We certainly have more than one newspaper we have already glanced through, which is waiting to be thrown in the dustbin or recycled.
Recycling is a magic word for creative people. It is possible to give new life to a newspaper page transforming it into a unique piece to wear or to give to someone else as a present. By cutting out words, letters, fragments we will turn them into everyday accessories: pendants, brooches, earrings, rings, necklaces...
It will be both a game and a creative challenge.

This workshop is open to all of you and will last two days.
We will start by choosing cuttings and words that we find attractive and lining flat shapes with them (rounds, rectangles, squares or ovals) changing them into pendants to form a necklace.
With the same technique, the following day we will carry out the plan to make a ring, a brooch or a pair of earrings. Finally all participants will draw a necklace and will became aware of their creative potential.

To line the cardboard we will use 'cartonnage' technique but 'quilling' (see explanations in 'Paper Jewellery: the Quilling') can be also used in order to obtain all kinds of pearls: big or small, long or short, fat or thin, that can be used together with flat shapes.

This is not a workshop for ladies only... We would like to remind everyone that making jewellery is not a feminine job and that men' creative potential is also there, ready to be explored and enjoyed.
