When we think of a jewel we usually imagine it to be made in noble metals and precious stones. Paper is surely the last material we would think of, because of its fragility.
And yet, even a sheet of paper can be transformed into a strong and lasting jewel.

By using an old technique called 'quilling', the art of rolling thin paper strips, it is possible to obtain wonderful necklaces, earrings, rings and brooches.
This technique is in itself quite simple, what imports are the imagination and the fun we put into making a unique jewel.

Imagine silky light clouds or seeds coloured like confetti.
To make them you just need several sheets of Japanese rice paper that you may have on a thousand shades and learn how to roll them around a thin rod using the right quantity of adhesive.
This is not that easy to do and therefore this course is intended for those who are already familiar with "quilling" technique.

Rice paper is precious and very light and needs some manual dexterity. Our first efforts will be soon repaid by the wonderful spindles that remind us of silk, with which we can make colourful jewels. It will be like wearing a flowery meadow or a garland of sweet candies.

The characteristic of this jewellery is to be sensuous and therapeutic.
When we wear the "flowery meadow" we can add a perfume to the beads that will absorb it and keep the scent.
At the same time we will be practising chromo therapy each time we chose one colour among many others.
