A three-day workshop, introductory to the construction of boxes according to the technique of Dutch master Cor Aerssens. This extraordinary boxmaker in over 25 years has developed a very special technique of construction at the same time robust and refined.

Learn the basics of this technique also allows access to upper-level seminars for the construction of boxes in all forms, with or without hinges.

We will analyze the basic shape of a right-angled box, with simple free lid, tailor made from cardboard and covered in paper.
The emphasis is put on the measurment, the construction, the lining (when possible, cut out in just a single piece) and the finish.
The focus is especially on the way in which these steps follow one another.

In the first part of the workshop is scheduled a session of
SKETCHES AND CONSTRUCTION DRAWINGS OF BOXES
To understand how to build a box, it is necessary to understand the mounting, how each piece of cardboard should be placed and why in that specific following order.

The seminar is open to both beginners and those already experienced.

LOCATION
The course will take place at Professione Libro,
Via Angelo Del Bon, 1 - 20158 MILAN - I

TIME
All the classes 9.30 am - 5.30 pm (1h lunch break, coffee break).
It will be possible to eat all together in a bar close to the workshop.
Tuition will be in Italian, but the teacher can assist students in English and French if required.

REGISTRATION AND PAYMENT
Registration must be made before the closing date.
The participation fee is 300 euro, including coffee breaks, costs of materials and the use of tools, provided by the organizers.

Joining the association is necessary: membership 25 euro.

There is limited availability so you are invited to book early.
Payment dates will determine booking priorities.

Closing date for enrolment and payment of the fee postoponed to 20th October, 2012.

CANCELLATION - PLEASE READ CAREFULLY
Enrolment must be cancelled in writing. If the cancellation letter is posted four weeks or more before the workshop begins, the participation fee will be refunded minus a 15% cancellation charge.
If the cancellation letter is posted less than four weeks but more than two weeks before the workshop begins, then the participation fee will be refunded minus a
50% cancellation charge.
No refund will be given in case of cancellation after the closing date or if, once registered and without further communication, the student doesn't participate.
In case the minimum number of participants should not be reached, the workshop will be cancelled and the whole fee refunded.
