SHEETS, FOLDS AND POCKETS - Assembling paper for the self-production - FPT1017

By sheets to books: bookbinding without glue to begin to understand how to compose a book, a portfolio, a brochure with simple folds and some sewing.
Two days to approach tools and materials useful for DIY bookbinding, without too much commitment of resources, but with seriousness, precision and method: to protect the product from the risks of mess, always lurking.
The workshop is aimed at all those who have the need to assemble their own graphic or narrative work, for presentations, portfolio or small editions. It is not necessary to have already a bookbinding experience, although a good manual skill is obviously helpful.
The aim is to provide all participants the necessary competence to deal with the self-production with discernment, managing to realize their books and, above all, having the basic information on materials and their behavior (the paper, this unknown...!) to be able to talk knowledgeably with the figures that accompany us in the path of creating a book: printers, paper distributors, graphic designers, publishers...
We will make several models of brochures, booklets and pocket portfolios, which will form a reference sample for the future; the second day, working on their graphic material, will repeat some of the models choosing among those recognized the most suitable to their needs, according to the material brought by each.
