The general objetive of the workshop is to provide strategies for creating and modifying folding patterns, to make participants able to create new circular designs.
This workshop is aimed for designers, architects, bookbinders, artists, artisans and paper lovers who want to experiment or use pleats in their work.
 
Specific objectives:

- Create dynamic and circular folded structures from a straight- edged sheet of paper
- Know and work with different folding rhythms
- Learn new ways to divide a sheet of paper by lines or folds to create a grid
- Experiment with different kinds of surface foldings in order to construct diverse folded structures
- Learn to work with curved pleats
- Create 3D structures from given exercises
- Complete a personal project

Programme:

Day 1
- Equal rhythm
- No equal rhythm
- Open and closed folded surfaces
- Variation of the geometrical parameters
- Circular structure from straight line
- Twisted pleats
 
Day 2
- Crossed pleats
- Curved pleats
- Personal creative project. The development of a new 3D structure

LOCATION
The course will take place at Professione Libro, Via A. Del Bon, 1 - 20158 MILAN - I

TIME TABLE
930 am - 6.30 pm (about 1h lunch break)

REGISTRATION AND PAYMENT
Registration must be made before the closing date.
Participation fee: 240 euro, including costs of materials and the use of tools provided by the organizers.

Membership to the Association is requested (25 euro).

There is limited availability so you are invited to book early.
Closing date for enrolment and payment of the fee: 23 November 2019.
However, the final registration order being determined by the payment order, it is necessary to pay at the time of registration, so that the place is guaranteed.

CANCELLATION - PLEASE READ CAREFULLY
Enrolment must be cancelled in writing.
If the cancellation letter is posted two weeks or more before the workshop begins, the participation fee will be refunded minus a 15% cancellation charge.
If the cancellation letter is posted less than two weeks but before the closing date of enrollments, then the participation fee will be refunded minus a 50% cancellation charge.
No refund will be given in case of cancellation after the closing date. Yet, if a person on the waiting list could take over, the fee will be refunded in full (to the exclusion of any membership fee paid contextually, covering the administration costs).
No refund will be given if, once registered and without further communication, the student doesn't partecipate.
In case the minimum number of participants should not be reached, the course will be cancelled and the whole fee refunded.
The confirmation of the feasibility of the workshop will be announced to the participants after the closing of entries, or when the minimum number of enrolments will be reached.
