A model created by Hedi Kyle, which offers many possible variations around a supporting structure that almost transforms the book into a sculpture.
 
The Spider Book leaves room for creativity in the choice of materials and their alternation within the basic form, but also proves useful in the assembly of materials that have a certain thickness and therefore require to be "welcomed" within more airy volumes.
 
Several variations of the structure will be shown, so that the participants can mount their own graphic or calligraphic material in the basic models, as well as working with the carving directly on the pages.
 
Also suitable for beginners.
 

LOCATION
The course will take place at Professione Libro, Via A. Del Bon, 1 - 20158 MILAN - I

TIMETABLE
Lessons will be held on Sunday from 9.30am to 6.30 pm (about 1h15 lunch break)

REGISTRATION AND PAYMENT
Registration must be made before the closing date.
Participation fee: 100 euro, including coffee break and the use of tools provided by the organizers.

Membership to the Association is requested (25 euro).

There is limited availability so you are invited to book early.
Closing date for enrolment and payment of the fee: 22 February 2019.
However, the final registration order being determined by the payment order, it is necessary to pay at the time of registration, so that the place is guaranteed.

MATERIALS
To the participants will be given a detailed list of the needed materials; however, booking it by 22 February 2019, it will be possible to book a kit with precut materials to make the basic models (18 euro, to be paid directly to the instructor): for the material to be assembled within the basic structures, participants must bring their own graphic / calligraphic material.

CANCELLATION - PLEASE READ CAREFULLY
Enrolment must be cancelled in writing.
If the cancellation letter is posted two weeks or more before the workshop begins, the participation fee will be refunded minus a 15% cancellation charge.
If the cancellation letter is posted less than two weeks but before the closing date of enrollments, then the participation fee will be refunded minus a 50% cancellation charge.
No refund will be given in case of cancellation after the closing date. Yet, if a person on the waiting list could take over, the fee will be refunded in full (to the exclusion of any membership fee paid contextually, covering the administration costs).
No refund will be given if, once registered and without further communication, the student doesn't partecipate.
In case the minimum number of participants should not be reached, the course will be cancelled and the whole fee refunded.
The confirmation of the feasibility of the workshop will be announced to the participants after the closing of entries, or when the minimum number of enrolments will be reached.
