Also this time, as always with Dario Zeruto, the workshop intends to explore the three-dimensional potential of paper.
On this occasion the sheet of paper will become a kind of frame where the fold and the cut become warp and weft to create three-dimensional surfaces inspired by the work of Anni Albers.
After an introduction on the division of the sheet of paper and the use of this division system as a structure similar to a fabric texture, these will be the main objectives:
- Understand how to use fold and cut as elements generating three-dimensionality
- Work with several layers of colored paper to create a weave that generates a three-dimensional surface
- Work on squared paper to create the executive project
- Work on the concepts of modular repetition and rhythm
The workshop is suitable for beginners.
LOCATION
The course will take place in the form of an online webinar on Zoom platform.
TIME TABLE
The course will take place on Saturday 17 and Sunday 18, every day with two connections of about 2h each, from 11 am to 1 pm and from 4 to 6 pm. Participants will work at the same time as the teacher, and at the beginning and at the end of each work session there will be time for questions and answers; the sessions will be recorded and will also be available for consultation after the course has ended.
The seminar will be preceded by a session of about 1h30, on Friday 16 April at 6h30pm, for a brief historical and theoretical introduction and a presentation of the program and the techniques that will be used, during which the teacher will also give indications for the preparation of the material for the following lessons.
The course will be held in Italian.
REGISTRATION AND PAYMENT
Registration must be made before the closing date.
Participation fee: 168 EUR, including materials that will be sent by mail to all participants. (If the shipment is to be made abroad, additional postal costs will be possible).
Membership to the Association for 2021 is requested (30 euro).
There is limited availability so you are invited to book early.
Closing date for enrolment and payment of the fee: 28 March 2021.
However, the final registration order being determined by the payment order, it is necessary to pay at the time of registration, so that the place is guaranteed.
MATERIALS AND TOOLS
Subscribers will be sent a list of the necessary tools, and a handout will be made available with all the technical explanations and diagrams of the models that will be addressed. The materials, included in the course fee, will be sent by post in the days preceding the seminar.
CANCELLATION - PLEASE READ CAREFULLY
Enrolment must be cancelled in writing.
If the cancellation letter is posted two weeks or more before the workshop begins, the participation fee will be refunded minus a 15% cancellation charge.
If the cancellation letter is posted less than two weeks but before the closing date of enrollments, then the participation fee will be refunded minus a 50% cancellation charge.
No refund will be given in case of cancellation after the closing date. Yet, if a person on the waiting list could take over, the fee will be refunded in full (to the exclusion of any membership fee paid contextually, covering the administration costs).
No refund will be given if, once registered and without further communication, the student doesn't partecipate.
In case the minimum number of participants should not be reached, the course will be cancelled and the whole fee refunded.
The confirmation of the feasibility of the workshop will be announced to the participants after the closing of entries, or when the minimum number of enrolments will be reached.
