Cutting, folding, rolling, overlapping, layering are some ways of transforming paper and cardboard to give shape to sculptures and installations.
There are several contemporary Italian artists who have approached this material: Munari, Pistoletto, Boetti, Mezzaqui, Perino & Vele, Arienti, just to name a few.
 
During this workshop we will create pocket sculptures that cross space, give it depth, expand it and at the same time contain it, and make its possible forms manifest.
 
Under the generous guidance of Eleonora Cumer, who as always accompanies everyone's work with attention and listening skills, we will cut, fold, use joints and simple pop-ups, to give life to small travel theatres, book-objects and books- sculpture in which the geometric shape will be the protagonist.

LOCATION
The course will take place at Professione Libro, Via Angelo Del Bon, 1 - 20158 MILAN - IT
Unfortunately our premises are not accessible to people with motor disabilities or walking difficulties, as they are located in the basement without a lift.

TIME
Saturday 10am - 6,30pm, Sunday 9,30am - 6,pm (1h lunch break, coffee break).

It will be possible to eat all together in a bar close to the workshop.
Tuition will be in Italian, but it will be possible to have assistance also in English and French.

TOOLS AND MATERIALS
All materials and tools will be available in the laboratory.

REGISTRATION AND PAYMENT
Registration must be made before the closing date.
The participation fee is 255 euro, including coffee breaks, costs of materials and the use of tools, provided by the organizers.
Early bird offer (enrollment by 16 February): 235 euro.

Membership to the Association for 2025 is requested (30 euro).

The course is limited in number: upon reaching the maximum number admitted, it is possible to ask to be placed on the waiting list.

Registrations will be possible from January 1st 2025. The final registration order is determined by the payment order; in order to guarantee the place, it is strongly recommended to notify the secretariat by sending a copy of the bank transfer via email.
Closing date for enrolment and payment of the fee: 14 March 2025.
 
CANCELLATION - PLEASE READ CAREFULLY
Enrolment must be cancelled in writing.
If the cancellation letter is posted two weeks or more before the workshop begins, the participation fee will be refunded minus a 15% cancellation charge.
If the cancellation letter is posted less than two weeks but before the closing date of enrollments, then the participation fee will be refunded minus a 50% cancellation charge.
No refund will be given in case of cancellation after the closing date. Yet, if a person on the waiting list could take over, the fee will be refunded in full (to the exclusion of any membership fee paid contextually, covering the administration costs).
No refund will be given if, once registered and without further communication, the student doesn't partecipate.
In case the minimum number of participants should not be reached, the course will be cancelled and the whole fee refunded.
The confirmation of the feasibility of the workshop will be announced to the participants after the closing of entries, or when the minimum number of enrolments will be reached.
