During this course we will create different cases suitable to preserve bifolios, single sections and loose sheets that need to be guarded or can simply acquire more value with a protective structure.
These models are designed to protect and enrich old documents but they are also suitable for all works of art, graphics and calligraphy that do not tolerate invasive interventions.
The materials to be used are a range of natural cardboard and conservation and cotton paper, to enable you to experiment with their different behaviors.
The techniques applied do not involve stitching or gluing but unusual anchoring methods with details borrowed from the most disparate fields.
The content of the structures will be provided with the materials in a pre-cut sized kit, but during the class will be given more informations to allow you to recreate the models on different formats later on.
This course is aimed at participants of all levels, even beginners.
