An intensive two-day workshop dedicated to papercraft for conservation.
Using exclusively archival corrugated board, a material designed for the long-term preservation of documents, books and valuable objects, it is possible to create rigid yet lightweight containers without the need for lining.
During the course we will make various container models, learning not only the craft techniques, the gestures, and the specific characteristics of this particular material, but also to take measurements starting from the contents, to design and create containers based on the characteristics and needs of the artefact they are intended to protect, be it a book, a document or a three-dimensional object.
Guidance will also be provided on how to conceive and create variants of the learned models, as well as how to add custom supports and padding tailored to the content, or additional closures for the container.
