This type of box, derived from one of the many models by Cor Aerssens, one of Europe's leading boxmakers and a longtime collaborator with Professione Libro, is the natural progression of the lidded models analyzed in Boxes 1, and is part of the basic box series.
Often, when creating a container, there's a need to divide it into compartments to hold and separate smaller contents, be they buttons or tools, perhaps even bookbinding tools.
This is an extremely useful model, and during its construction, we will explore various compartmentalization methods, including a curved bottom, which allows for easier removal of small objects.
During the four-day seminar, we will analyze the basic techniques of multilayered construction, which ensures solidity and clean assembly, followed by lining with strong paper, with virtually invisible and very elegant joins.
Once you've learned the techniques and tricks for measuring, cutting, and assembling, you'll be able to independently create many other models, with different sizes and different numbers of compartments.
This workshop is open to (not entirely) beginners and advanced users.
Knowledge of the materials and tools is recommended.
