Discovering images, signals, fragments and words in the books of B**K trough a game path – individual project between original printmaking and bookbinding

To observe, recognize, select, process, revise, recompose, create a layout.
The basic abc of original printmaking and bookbinding as tools to design and reinterpret the content of existing books with your own personal sensitivity and lexicon.

After a first phase of analysis of the books made available by the Spazio B**k bookshop, within which participants will choose images and signs they intend to use in their projects, the program involves the preparation of the matrices which will then be used for the printing of one or more small editions in the form of a book made in Gumprint*/Monotypy/ Relief engraving with the etching press and/or by hand with the baren, then folded in the form of a single-sheet book with extremely effective solutions.

* GUMPRINT: Experimental technique in the original printmaking, the gumprint (or rubber printing) is a technique with relatively poor means (a sheet of paper processed with a fatty substance or a laser photocopy, shellac and arabic gum) allows us to create a very limited edition of prints; it is nothing else than the application of the traditional lithographic process starting from a paper matrix, rather than stone. The treated sheet or photocopy then becomes the matrix for the printing with the etching press.

The workshop is aimed at graphic designers, designers, students, illustrators, teachers interested in the world of bookbinding and printmaking.
It is not necessary to already have experience, even if good manual skills are obviously helpful.
